HANDBELLS
St. John’s currently has 2 handbell choirs, each highlighting music of a distinct style, ensemble size, and complexity, allowing ringers to be placed in the choir which will best fit their skills and interests. For more information contact the St. John’s Music Director, John Corrie. jcorrie@stjohnselc.org
CHIME CHOIR (Kindergarten through 5th grade) Children need not have any experience with music to play in the Chime Choir. Chimes are similar to bells, but are easier for children to play. The Chime Choir rehearses for about 4 weeks and then plays a piece usually during worship or as part of a concert. It is a great way to develop a love for music while getting experience playing in an ensemble.
INSTRUMENTAL ENSEMBLES
There are a variety of instrumental ensembles that practice and play for church services and special events.
The Brass Ensemble is an adult group that makes many of our festival services special with their beautiful pieces.
The Recorder Ensemble occasionally plays at worship services and concerts.
