So far this year during JAM the kids have listened to Bible stories about creation, Abraham, Joseph and Moses. As we have listened to these stories, we have learned Bible truths and that God has done many wonderful things for his people, and that includes us. We talked about how we could say thank you to God for all he does, and we realized that living for God and doing things that honor and please him is the best way to say thank you to him.

In JAM, we talked about a very special way to say thank you to God, it is called “thanksliving.”

“Thanksliving” is when we show our thanks by the way we live. “Thanksliving” is when we look at the many ways God has blessed us, and we thank Him by sharing His blessings with others.

the JAM kids performed this poem containing many Bible truths the kids have learned in class and how we can respond with Thanksliving to all God has done for us.

Who made the world?
God, that’s who!
He loves it all,
and that means YOU!
He makes promises,
that you can trust:
He’ll never leave,
and he care for us;
How to thank him
for all his giving?
We can honor him,
with our “Thanks Living!”

At the end of the poem the kids all lifted posters that showed ways they practice Thanksliving.  The posters are on display outside the Meet and Greet Room for all to see and use as a way we can all practice “Thanks living” in our lives.

We ended the presentation with this prayer.

Dear God, we come to you with thanksgiving for all you have done. Help us turn our thanksgiving into “Thanksliving.” Help us notice people around us who are in need and ways we can care for them and share with them just like you do for us. In Jesus’ name.    Amen.
