Deacon Rich’s Corner

Fall, 2022

Well, we are in the countdown to Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year. As we
advance into Advent we are going into a season of hope. This is symbolized by the
colors of our banners in the chancel; it is blue. So, we go thru this time with the hope of
better things to come and the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Each year we enter into
Advent with the same hope and thanksgiving for the birth of our Lord who takes away
the sins of the world; and the world really needs Jesus at this time.
We have many opportunities for worship during this season, there will also be some
concerts on Sundays where we can enjoy the talents of Dillon at the organ. Just look for
the schedule that will be coming to your home. We are blessed to have a very talented
organist who will share his talents with us and the online congregation who cannot be
there.
Remember there are 3 services on Christmas Eve 12:30, 7:00 and 11:00PM, so reserve
one of these times in your calendar to attend, marvel at the quality of the service and
music.
God is alive and well in St. John’s in its ministries and outreach programs. Without
God’s help and guidance, we would not be doing as well as we are. He leads us where
He needs us and helps get the job done. So, if God is nudging you to do something
move on it. He will help you do this job and give you the talents to succeed.
May you have a Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, and a Happy and healthy New
Year.
Your Servant in Christ,
Deacon Rich
